As all forums do, Hamster Paradise has rules to keep its members safe. As such, we need to have a way of enforcing these rules (which can be found in the pinned "Rules" thread), and to do so we give out warning points! You get 4 points (25% each) and after you reach 100% you will be permanently banned from Hamster Paradise. To ensure there is no confusion and that no mods or admins go astray in the warning/banning process, this post will be forever available and unedited without proper warning and addressing in another thread.
Level 1;
If you commit a minor offense such as speaking rudely to another member or losing your temper in a debate, you will be given a warning. These warnings in themselves do not qualify as points and will not count towards a ban. However, if these behaviors continue and occur multiple times over a month-long period, the mods and admins will consult each other before distributing 1 warning point.
Level 2;
The warnings before points being given can be skipped, as long as the offense is considered harmful to others. Insulting other members, knowingly giving harmful advice, or hurting a grieving member intentionally, could all earn you a warning point. These cases can be appealed and, depending on the severity of the incident and whether or not this is your first offense, the mods and admins will decide whether or not a point can be removed.
Level 3;
In more severe cases, such as recurring bullying, using slurs, intentionally making users uncomfortable, and severely inappropriate behavior, two warning points (50%) will be given. These too can be appealed and can result in none, one, or both points being removed. These cases will go through mods first before reaching the admins, and then will be re-discussed as a team. These cases can take up to, but not exceeding, a week to review.
Level 4;
Finally, we have banning. Bannings can be immediate, in the case of death threats, sexual harassment, or threats of self-harm, but are very rare and will go through all moderators and admins unless it is an emergency situation. However, the most common method of banning is once you reach 4 warning points (100%). In either case, these can only be appealed via email, and depending on the severity of the case will be unbanned without the privilege of using PMs or posting threads for a period of time, unless found to be wrongfully banned.
